☀️ How to Tell If You Have WARM Undertones (Without the Wrist Test)
If you’ve been told to look at the veins on your wrist to find your undertone, you can skip that step. Veins do not predict undertone. This is outdated and inaccurate information. Undertones are the muted colors that lie subtly beneath the skin’s surface. They never change. While the skin above the surface may change due to sun exposure or flushing (that is your overtone), your undertone is always going to be the same.
Signs You May Have Warm Undertones
1. Your skin looks healthy in warm colors
Peach, coral, camel, cream, and earthy tones brighten your complexion.
2. Cool shades look gray or chalky
Icy pinks, blue-based reds, and silvery tones drain your skin.
3. Golden foundations blend seamlessly
Warm or peach-based foundations melt in without turning orange.
4. Bronzer looks natural, not forced
Warm bronzers add dimension rather than sitting on top of the skin.
5. Your skin deepens rather than reddens
You tan easily and often deepen in color without obvious redness.
6. Gold wins out the gold vs. silver jewelry test
When you test gold and silver jewelry against your face, gold looks much better with your skin.
7. Cream wins out in the T shirt test
If you compare a white shirt and a cream shirt held up near your face, the cream shirt will look better when you have warm undertones.
Bottom line:
If warmth enhances your skin and cool tones consistently look dull, you’re likely warm-toned.
